How to Delete Your Account

To delete your Utopia Chats account, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Utopia account at utopiachats.com or through the Utopia mobile app.
2. Open the menu by tapping the menu icon in the top left corner of the screen.
3. Go to Settings by tapping the "Settings" option in the menu.
4. Tap "Delete Account" - the red button at the top of the Settings panel.
5. Confirm deletion by typing "DELETE" in the confirmation field and entering your current password.
6. Tap "Delete Account" to permanently delete your account.

What Data Is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

• Account Information: Your email address, username, and login credentials
• Profile Data: Your display name, bubble color preferences, and other customization settings
• Group Memberships: You will be removed from all groups you are a member of
• Private Messages: Your private message conversations
• Push Notification Tokens: Device tokens used for notifications

Data That May Be Retained

In accordance with our Privacy Policy, certain data may be retained for limited purposes:

• Messages: Messages, images, voice messages, and other media you have uploaded are retained until they expire past their Time-To-Live date, which is typically 30 days but is subject to change.
• Legal Compliance: Information required by law, court orders, or legal proceedings may be retained as necessary.
• Fraud Prevention: Records related to terms of service violations, abuse prevention, or fraud investigations may be retained to protect our community.
• Backup Archives: If your data exists in backup archives, it will be securely isolated and deleted when the backup cycle completes.

Any retained data is securely stored and isolated from active processing until it can be permanently deleted.
